The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following report:
March 15 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer and malicious injury/destruction of property.
Officer Dustin Brodrick responded to a report of theft at Atwoods, 1215 S. Main St.
According to the report, store manager Jeri Sheriff stated a male individual exited the store wearing a pair boots without purchasing them and left behind the size 11 1/2 D boots he had worn into the store.
Another employee followed the individual into the parking lot and witnessed his vehicle strike another employee’s vehicle as he was exiting the parking lot, according to the report.
Officer Justin Trumbley gathered the vehicle owner’s information and photographed the damage. Minor damage was reported to the vehicle.
The reported value of the boots was $129.
According to a follow-up report on March 20, Brodrick obtained Atwoods’ surveillance video and security photos of the incident. Officers posted the photos on social media in an attempt to identify the suspect, according to the report.
Brodrick said in his report that a possible identification was made of the suspect through the social media post and contact with Major County law enforcement.
