The photograph of construction on Page 2B of the Wednesday, Aug. 7, edition of the Times & Free Press offered some incorrect information.

The construction is of the new cheer and softball facility just east of the Kingfisher High School softball field.

The cutline and story said the facility comes with a $2 million price tag.

While initial budget and financing estimates initially approached $2 million, the project will actually cost the district about half that much.

When bids were opened, they came in at $963,000 which didn’t include fees for architects and project managers.

On top of that, the board of education opted to not finance through a lease-purchase agreement, but to pay for the facility outright, saving additional money.

To date, the district has put just under $1.05 million into the facility, which is expected to be completed in the fall.
