KPS honors Copeland
Longtime Kingfisher Board of Education member Mike Copeland was honored prior to the board’s May regular meeting. Copeland served 10 years on the board, which also coincided with Jason Sternberger’s tenure as superintendent.
“Mike was on the board when they hired me, so we’ve served 10 years together,” Sternberger said as he presented him a plaque.
“I appreciate everything he’s done.”
The plaque read: “Given in grateful appreciation of dedication and meritorious service to the students of Kingfisher Schools.”
“It’s been 10 great years. There have been lot of good times and even some struggles, just like everybody else,” he said. “I’ve had great board members to work with, great administrators and great staff.
“To give back to your school is an honor.”
