KPS set to fill final open positions
With the start of school less than two weeks away, the Kingfisher Board of Education is expected to fill the district’s final personnel spots Monday night.
On the agenda for the regular August board meeting are items to hire a vocal teacher at Heritage, sixth grade teacher, four special education paraprofessionals, a teacher’s assistant and a part-time nurse.
The district begins professional development on Aug. 9 and the first day of school is Wednesday, Aug. 14.
Among other items on the agenda are discussion and possible action on:
• The purchase of a new activity bus;
• A gifted and talented district plan;
• An agreement with Go For Public for tax credit scholarship purposes;
• A resolution to transcript computer, math and science classes taught at Chisholm Trail Technology Center;
• A resolution endorsing the CCOSA Blended/ Virtual Learning Framework;
• Board policies regarding travel expenses and teacher qualifications; and,
• Updates to the student handbook.
The board will also vote on annual contracts with Big Five and CareerTech.
