Local DRC open through Thursday
A Mobile Disaster Recovery Center opened Monday at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds to assist local residents affected by flooding earlier in the spring.
Michael D. Flores of the Small Business Association provided the following key points of the SBA disaster loan program:
• SBA provides low-interest disaster loans to businesses, private nonprofit organizations, homeowners and renters;
• Loans up to $200,000 for homeowners for damages plus $40,000 for personal property loss;
• Loans up to $40,000 for renters for personal property loss (furniture, vehicles, belongings);
• Loans up to $2 million for businesses and private nonprofit organizations for damages due to the disaster.
The mobile DRC will be operating at the fairgrounds in Kingfisher until 6 p.m. Thursday, opening at 8 a.m. daily.
However applications for assistance may be accepted later by going online to sba.gov/disaster.
The deadline to apply for physical damage is July 31, 2019 while the economic injury filing date is March 3, 2020.
