Local traffic accidents

The following traffic accidents are being investigated by the Kingfisher Police Department: February 5, 7:56 a.m. At West Bowman Avenue and South Seventh Street.

Jose Ramirez-Rivera, 48, Kingfisher, driving a 2021 GMC Yukon, was westbound on West Bowman Avenue near the intersection of South Seventh Street.

Luella King, 61, Kingfi sher, driving a 2016 Ford Focus, was southbound on South Seventh Street.

According to the report, the King vehicle failed to yield and struck the Ramirez-Rivera vehicle in the passenger side.

Functional damage was reported to both vehicles.

No injuries were reported.

Lieutenant Justin Trumbley investigated the accident.

February 10, 6:27 p.m. At East Broadway Avenue and Sixth Street.

Dennis Nelms, 39, Kingfi sher, driving a 2015 Ford Fusion, was westbound on East Broadway Avenue and attempting to make a left turn onto South Sixth Street.

Brenda Maschino, 52, Dover, driving a 2016 Buick Enclave, was westbound on East Broadway Avenue directly behind the Nelms vehicle.

According to the report, the Maschino vehicle failed to stop and struck the Nelms vehicle in the rear.

Functional damage was reported to both vehicles.

Both drivers sustained possible trunk injuries, the report said.

Officer Michael Farrar investigated the accident.

February 18, 3:27 p.m. - At U.S. 81 and Starlite Drive.

Gary Brown, 80, Kingfi sher, driving a 2016 Kia Sorento, was eastbound on Starlite Drive and stopped at the traffic signal at U.S. 81.

Daniel Showers, 31, Kingfisher, driving a 2017 Jeep Renegade, was southbound on U.S. 81 and attempting to make a right turn onto West Starlite Drive.

According to the report, the Showers vehicle began to slide on the icy roadway and struck the Brown vehicle.

Functional damage was reported to the Showers vehicle and disabling damage to the Brown vehicle.

Showers sustained a possible leg injury and Kingfisher EMS responded to the scene, but the driver refused transport, the report said.

Officer Justin Conner investigated the accident.

February 18, 8:05 p.m. - At U.S. 81 and Industrial Parkway.

Jaime Pecina-Montelongo, 49, Okarche, driving a 2016 Nissan Altima, was southbound on U.S. 81 near the intersection of Industrial Parkway.

Ruben Cruz, 21, Kingfi sher, driving a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer, was eastbound on Industrial Parkway.

According to the report, the Cruz vehicle failed to yield and struck the Pecina- Montelongo vehicle.

Disabling damage was reported to both vehicles.

Cruz sustained a nonincapacitating arm injury and Pecina-Montelongo sustained a non-incapacitating head injury.

Kingfisher EMS responded and transported Pecina-Montelongo to Mercy Hospital Kingfisher for treatment.

Officer Christopher McDaniel investigated the accident.
