Lomega Jr. 4-H Club members win high honors at quiz bowl
Two teams made up of Lomega 4-H Club members were able to capture the first and second place rankings at the combined Kingfisher and Blaine County Bi-County Livestock Quiz Bowl contest held in early February at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds.
Winning first place in the livestock quiz bowl contest was the team consisting of Braxton Murray, Laci Grabow, Kase Glazier and Mia Foreman.
Finishing second in the contest was the team of Ian Pope, Maddy Pope, Breckon Murray and Saidee Wright.
Additional honors were won by club members Braxton and Breckon Murray in the livestock skill-a-thon as they placed first and second in the overall competition.
Teams from throughout both counties were invited to take part in a contest where they were asked a series of questions on various livestock species designed to test the participants’ knowledge of cattle, sheep, goats and swine.
The team answering the most questions correctly was judged the winner.
In the skill-a-thon, individual 4-H Club members answered questions about various livestock handling items.
