Lomega Junior 4-H wins county quiz bowl contest
Two teams made up of Lomega Jr. 4-H Club members were able to capture the first and second place rankings at the Kingfisher County livestock quiz bowl contest held on Feb. 11 at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds.
Additional honors were won by club member Braxton Murray in the FCS Skillathon, coming in third place overall in the competition.
Teams from throughout the county were invited to take part in a contest where they were asked a series of questions on various livestock species designed to test the participants’ knowledge of cattle, sheep, goats and swine.
The team answering the most questions correctly was judged the winner.
In the Skillathon, individual 4-H Club members answered questions about various household and kitchen items.
Winning first place in the livestock quiz bowl contest was a team from Lomega consisting of Breckon Murray, Josey Nusz, Lasi Grabow and Sadee Wright.
Finishing second in the context was another Lomega team consisting of Kase Glazier, Maddy Pope, Braxton Murray and Colton Nusz.
