Loosen named local Rotary Club’s 2021 Francis scholarship recipient
The 2021 John A. Francis Scholarship has been awarded to Kingfisher’s Madeline Loosen.
The $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually by the Kingfisher Rotary Club to assist a current college student with qualified educational expenses.
Loosen is currently a sophomore at Oklahoma State University She graduated from Kingfisher High School in 2019.
The daughter of Jeff and Marette Forman and Clay Loosen, Madeline Loosen was a standout in and out of the classroom during high school.
She was a class valedictorian and recipient of the 4.0 Award among other academic honors.
Loosen also was a Class 4A state champion in the 800 meters and earned all-state honors multiple times.
She was a two-time all-state in cross country and a member of the 2018 Class 4A state championship cross country team.
Loosen is a physiology/pre-med major.
She’s been on the Dean’s Honor Roll at OSU in both 2019 and 2020.
She is a member of College of Arts and Sciences Student Council, American Medical Association Club, Microbiology Club, American Association of University Women, Best Buddies Club and Global Medical Brigades among other activities.
Loosen also currently serves as vice president of risk management for her sorority, Pi Beta Phi.
