Louthan’s photography to be part of exhibit at Enid festival

By

Local photographer Michael Louthan will be one of two photographers to have his work featured in an exhibit this month during an Enid Festival.

Louthan and Mike Klemme will exhibit their photography at the Klemme Art Gallery located at 222 East Maple.

The exhibition, “Capturing Land,” a compilation of international landscapes, will be held on Saturday, March 23,  in conjunction with the Red Brick Road Art and Food Truck Festival in The Brix (200 Block of East Maple) near downtown Enid.

The exhibit will include landscape images from Canada, Iceland, the Arctic Circle, Patagonia, Costa Rica, Central America as well as Canada and the United States.

A reception will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 22, and exhibit hours during the festival will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m the following day.

Both photographers will be on hand to discuss their images. Snacks and a cash bar will be available for the Friday night session.

“Both Mike Klemme and I enjoy visiting with others about our photography and hope to see local Kingfisher friends at the event,” Louthan said.

Louthan and his wife, Patricia, have lived in Kingfisher for 38 years.

He’s retired from the audio and acoustics industry and spent many years as a mountaineering and adventure photographer.

Louthan’s work has been featured in galleries in Oklahoma and Missouri and several times online by Oklahoma Today and ArtDesk magazines. His articles on star imaging have been published in Light and Landscape magazine.

The Enid Red Brick Road and Food Truck Festival is one of the largest events in northwest Oklahoma and features artwork, music and food.
