March comes with lion roar
Kingfisher County residents can hope that the old weather adage is true: March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.
Wintry weather held the county in its grips in the first days of March, complete with a dusting of snow on Sunday with below freezing temperatures throughout the day.
The county experienced a wind chill reading Sunday morning of minus 4 degrees
Temperatures continued blustery and cold on Monday when the high reached only 23 degrees.
The local forecast called for a high Tuesday of 37 in the afternoon after a 19 degree reading at 8 a.m.
Warmer readings are expected later in the week reaching a high of 61 on Thursday.
Highs in the low 60s also are predicted for Saturday – good thing, too, since that’s the best time to “spring forward” by setting clocks ahead at bedtime in preparation for Sunday’s start of Daylight Savings Time.
