Mayes named to 522 district

By

Kingfisher County commissioners appointed Brad Mayes to the Cashion 522 (ambulance) board at their weekly meeting Monday.

They also approved monthly reports for the treasurer, election board and court clerk offices, a road-crossing permit for a three-inch water line requested by Ovintiv southeast of Kingfisher in District 1, monthly appropriations for June, declared six computer items at the county emergency management office as surplus and heard a COVID-19 report from City-County Emergency Management Director Steve Loftis.

Loftis reported 46 cases in Kingfisher County as of Monday, 16 of them active. He identified the active cases as follow: seven in Kingfisher, five in Okarche, two at Hennessey and two at Cashion.

The water line crossing for Ovintiv is at a site where four oilgas wells are scheduled to be drilled, District 1 Commissioner Jeff Moss said.

District 2 Commissioner Ray Shimanek, chairman, and District 3 Commissioner Heath Dobrovolny, vice chairman, joined Moss in making all actions unanimous.

Also attending the meeting were County Clerk Jeannie Boevers, minute clerk, who reported the county excise board would meet at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sheriff Dennis Banther and Loftis.
