Mitchell serves as Sanders page
Kaden Mitchell, a senior at Hennessey High School, paged for House Majority Leader Mike Sanders the week of Feb. 24-27 at the state Capitol.
Mitchell is the son of Arlinda Vincent.
He said after high school he plans to attend Oklahoma State University to get a degree in agribusiness and pre-law.
His community service projects include being a part of Hennessey United, a local nonprofit; serving as CEO of Hennessey Beautification, where he takes care of all plants and watering on Main Street.
Mitchell also is a member of the National Honor Society. He owns and operates two companies: Mitchell Lawn Service and TCB Moving Company.
Extracurricular school activities include playing on the Hennessey golf team and serving as secretary for the Hennessey FFA.
Special honors and achievements include being awarded second and third place in the state for turf grass management and achieving a State FFA Degree.
Mitchell said his proudest accomplishments to date include serving as a page for both his state representative and state senator and winning the turf grass management awards.
House pages run messages to legislators while they are in the chamber debating policy and voting on measures.
Pages also participate in a mock session, in which they learn legislative procedure and how to write legislation.
“Kaden is a go-getter who already has a lot of life experience, running his own companies, serving on nonprofit boards, being in charge of community service projects, what an outstanding young man,” Sanders said.
“It was an honor to welcome him to the House of Representatives this week and show him a closer look at how state government runs. I know he will take what he’s learned and do outstanding things in his future.”
