Motorcycle rider dies in local crash

By

A Kingfisher man was killed last Monday evening when a motorcycle he was riding struck a stop sign 7.3 miles east of Kingfisher.

Jesus Esquivel-Carillo, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the collision, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

He was traveling west on S.H. 33 about 6 p.m. Monday when his 1994 Honda motorcycle veered off the roadway to the right, struck a stop sign, continued north into the ditch and rolled multiple times.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, according to the OHP report, which noted “an odor of alcoholic beverage” when describing the condition of the driver.

Esquivel-Carillo was not wearing a helmet, according to the report.

OHP Trooper Seth Wallace of the Kingfisher County detachment of Troop J investigated the crash, assisted by Trooper Mark Williams, the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office, Big Four and Cashion fire departments, Kingfisher EMS and Air Evac.

Traffic was diverted from S.H. 33 east of Kingfisher for about an hour after the accident.
