Nearly all ad val tax now paid
Kingfisher County property owners continued their premier status as a leader in paying their property (ad valorem) taxes promptly.
County Treasurer Robin Rother’s summary of taxes paid through Monday, May 5, showed total collections of $336,016,388.09 of the $344,893,178.49 adjusted tax roll certified for collection – 97.426%.
The report showed the uncollected amount at $8,876,790.40 with $7,686,413.08 paid under protest.
The majority of the ad valorem tax goes to support local school districts – 83.2% – with 13.8% going to support county government, 2.8% to the county health department and 0.2% to support ambulance districts.
Payments made by school districts include: Okarche, $38,689,474.57, Hennessey $63,460,826.25, Kingfisher $118,259,195.30, Cashion, $44,637,369.56, Dover, $30,605,144.13, and Lomega, $31,957,673.04.
In many Oklahoma counties lengthy lists of delinquent taxpayers are an annual occurrence.
The taxes paid were for the 2020 calendar year.
Also sharing in county ad valorem revenue were the following joint districts which enter Kingfisher County: Drummond, $70,560.93; Cimarron, $102,560.19; Covington, $2,065,803.40; Piedmont,$487,486.91; Crescent, $4,115,849.11, and Okeene, $1,373,557.79
