An ADA power lift, and a “mother’s bench” in the water are just a couple of features of Hennessey’s new $2.1 million pool that opens with a ribbon-cutting at noon Monday, said Tiffany Tillman, town administrator.

The 100-by-200 foot pool has a 6,100-foot deck and a 1,660 square-foot bathhouse.

The aquatic center also features two diving boards, several sprays and flumes and tot slides and will hold 300 people, Tillman said.

The center is located on Mitchell Road across from the school complex.

Tillman said there is plenty of paved parking at the aquatic center that also includes a free splash pad and park with a full volleyball court, half basketball court and playground equipment.

Admission is $2 for age 17 and under; $3 for 18-64, and $1 for 65-up.
