The next president? TBD
Biden holds lead as key states continue counting
Three days in and with Democrat Joe Biden slipping to within six electoral votes of the magic 270 number to secure the White House, the Trump campaign is seeking a Wisconsin recount and has filed legal action in Georgia, Pennsylvania and Michigan over ballot-counting rules.
However, Oklahoma in general, and Kingfisher County in particular, supported the sitting president by significant margins. More than a million Oklahomans voted for Trump (1,018,870), allowing him to carry the state by a margin of 65.37%. Biden’s total was roughly half that number 503,289 (32.29 %).
Libertarian candidate Jo Jorgenson carried 24,686 of the state’s votes (1.59 %), with the remaining votes split among three independent candidates, including rapper Kanye West, who garnered 5,590 votes.
The state narrowly avoided ending its decades-long tradition of the Republican presidential candidate carrying every county when Oklahoma County flipped from blue to red in the last hours of vote tabulation Tuesday night
Oklahoma County’s final vote tally gave Trump the edge by less than 4,000 votes - 144,916 (49.21 %) to 141,587 for Biden (48.08 %).
The margin was much larger in Kingfisher County, where 85.4 % of voters (5,514) voted for the sitting president and 13.2 % (853) voted for his Democrat challenger. Libertarian candidate Jorgenson garnered 64 votes, just under 1 %.

An online article last week by Fred Lucas on the Daily Signal website included this account of alleged voting irregularities in the state of Michigan, which has drawn the attention of independent poll watchers:
Independent groups also will sue the state of Michigan, said Gordon Pennington, a poll watcher for the Election Integrity Fund, which advocates clean elections in Michigan.
“Pennington said more than a recount is necessary in Michigan; a thorough examination should determine whether ballots are legitimate, he said.
Pennington, speaking from Cobo Arena in Detroit where Wayne County officials are counting ballots, accused them of not following the rules.
About 38,000 votes in the presidential election came in at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday without anyone explaining the point of origin or chain of custody for the ballots, he said. Under Michigan law, he added, ballots harvested or collected after 8 p.m. on Election Day are not supposed to be valid.
“If you are recounting fake ballots, what’s the point of a recount?” Pennington told The Daily Signal. “We need more forensics.”
The Trump campaign seeks a recount in Wisconsin and has gone to court in Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Michigan over ballot counting rules to settle a presidential election that remains undecided.
