November sales tax up in Cashion, Loyal
County, other municipalities, show declines over last year’s amounts
Cashion and Loyal showed nice increases in November sales tax distribution announced by the Oklahoma Tax Commission. All other county municipalities refl ected lower sales tax checks in varying degrees, likely due to a slowdown in county oilfi eld activity. The November distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from September business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from Sept. 16 to Sept. 30 and estimated sales from Oct. 1 to Oct. 15. The disbursement of $155,875,478 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns refl ected an increase of $5,593,522 from the $150,281,956 distributed to the cities and towns in November last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and towns was $21,253,925. In county returns, the counties shared in a $26,743,406 sales tax disbursementanda$4,419,896 use tax disbursement. Use tax checks for local municipalities also were announced in the tax commission news release. Use tax rates are identical to each identities sales tax rate.
