October new date for U.S. 81 finish
Although work is now progressing well on the U.S. 81 project south of Kingfisher, record rainfall earlier this year has pushed the estimated completion date back to mid to late October, an ODOT spokesperson said Tuesday.
“All mainline concrete paving on the northbound lanes is finished and the contractor is now working on paving turn lanes and shoulders,” Cody Boyd, ODOT public information officer, told the Times and Free Press .
“We estimate northbound lanes being fully open to traffic by mid-September.”
After several drainage structures are installed under the southbound lanes, primarily on the north end of the project, rehabilitation work will begin on the surface, he said.
