The Oklahoma Department of Transportation published two legal notices in the Sept. 24 edition of the Times and Free Press indicating that construction plans are progressing on State Highway 33 east of Kingfisher.

The first notice to bidders regards work to widen and resurface S.H. 33 from .78 mile east of the U.S 81 intersection and extending east.

The second bid notice refers to widening and resurfacing S.H. 33 from 5.55 miles east of Kingfisher and extending east.

The bid notices for each project state that no bidding proposals will be issued to any contractor after 10:30 a.m.on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Bid opening for both projects is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9.

The bid notices state that the cost of each bidding proposal is $50 plus tax.

State standard specifications may be purchased by contacting ODOT Business Services Center (405) 5214509 and that no refunds will be made for bidding documents or specification books purchased.

Unless otherwise specifi ed in the proposal, all bids must be submitted with a proposal guaranty equal to 5% of the bid total, the bid notice states.

ODOT’s publication stated that upon award of a contract, the contractors have 10 working days to return “completely and correctly executed contracts” and the state department will have 14 working days from the date of its award to complete its execution.

Utility and farm fence lines along the projects’ route have already been set back in preparation for the construction projects.
