Officers investigate Yukon man’s death here

By

Kingfisher County officers have determined that a Yukon man found dead in a vehicle near an oil and gas storage site April 13 near Kingfisher died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Deputy Sheriffs Kendon Lott and Brad Logan filed investigation reports indicating the death was caused by a self-inflicted wound to the chest from a 9 millimeter pistol found inside the truck in which the body of Kenneth Logan Perrone, 37, of 1119 SW 5th Street, Yukon, was found shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 13.

Lott’s report said he heard a dispatch at 6:36 p.m. regarding a possibly suicidal male in the Kingfisher area.

He was guided to the oil well site at the intersection of NS CR 2900 and EW CR 790 by the GPS in the company oil truck the deceased was driving.

Kingfisher Police Department members had already searched the vicinity around the golf course after receiving word from the deceased man’s brother, a Logan County officer, that he was driving a three-quarter ton truck bearing the company logo.

Logan reported he arrived at the site about the same time as Kingfisher Police Officer Aaron Schlegel and observed other officers already at the scene, Lott and Officer Richard Staton, applying CPR.

Officers reported only one shot had been fired with the spent casing on the seat of the vehicle.

Kingfisher Emergency Management Service personnel also attempted to revive Perrone, the report said.

The medical examiner’s office also went to the scene.

Sgt. Corey Thompson of the Kingfisher Counry Sheriff’s Office was quoted in the report saying the man’s brother told him that the victim suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
