OHS students present public performance of contest play
The Okarche High School speech team will present the production of “Kindertransport” by Diane Samuels at a public performance at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 2, in the OHS Black Box Theatre.
The one-act drama will be Okarche’s entry in the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association’s one-act play contest.
The story centers around Evelyn, a woman who as a child was sent to England by her Jewish family so that she would be safe from the horrors of war.
Raised by an English family and now a mother herself, Evelyn must face her past when her daughter discovers her secret.
The cast includes Kylie Bailey, Kenzie Beard, Riley Black, Marley Hill, Emily Neuenschwander, Brody Saler, McKenzie Stewart and Emma Stover.
Also featured are Kera Avilez, Rylie Bomhoff, Chloe Goble, Reagan Marler, Afton Shirey and Suzann Smith.
The production staff includes Madison Schaefer, videographer; Derek Mueggenborg and Suzann Smith, sound technicians, and Michael Dunkin, Reagan Marler and Kaylea Steelman, lighting technicians.
