Two Okarche brothers are the county’s latest victims of COVID-19.

Ron Annuschat, 58, died Friday and Paul Annuschat, 68, died Saturday. Two other family members are hospitalized and fighting for their lives, family member Jackie Walta reported.

The two men were the fourth and fifth deaths confirmed in Kingfisher by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.

(The OSDH does not report deaths by name, only gender and age range.)

The other three deaths include two residents of a Hennessey nursing home and one resident of a Kingfisher nursing home.

Friday’s numbers from OSDH showed 78 active cases in Kingfisher County, with 604 confirmed, 521 recovered and five total deaths.

The county’s numbers on the COVID-19 risk alert map showed a rolling seven-day average of 43.5 daily new cases per 100,000 population.

The number was the highest among adjacent counties for the second consecutive week: Garfield - 38.6; Canadian - 38.1; Blaine -28.8, and Logan - 19.
