Fort Cobb-Broxton punched its ticket to the Class A fall baseball state tournament, but Okarche was still in the hunt for a spot after the regional’s first day.

The fourth-ranked Mustangs toppled Okarche 14-4 in the regional opener Thursday in Fort Cobb.

The host team followed that up with a 2-1 victory over No. 7 Byng in the regional championship, which earned a spot in this week’s state tournament.

Byng had defeated No. 12 Canute 7-0 in their regional opener.

Canute and No. 20 Okarche played at 2 p.m. Friday (after press time) in an elimination game.

The winner of that game played Byng immediately after in the regional consolation championship.

The consolation champ will also advance to state.
