Okarche should have its next superintendent named this week.

The board of education has set a special meeting for 7 p.m. Monday, March 2.

The only item on the agenda is:

“Consideration and action on employment of Superintendent of Schools for the 2020-2021 school year.”

The board wrapped up two rounds of interviews last Wednesday.

Eight candidates were initially interviewed the previous week and then four were called back for a second interview last week.

Okarche began its search for a new superintendent after Rob Friesen announced in January he had accepted the same position with Thomas-Fay-Custer school district.

Friesen is currently in his seventh year as Okarche’s superintendent.
