Olds 88 takes top honor at 2020 Kool Cars

Nearly twice as many vehicles were entered in this year’s Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce Kool Cars and Chrome as were entered in 2019.

The car show was hosted Aug. 1 in conjunction with the Kingfisher retail merchants’ annual Crazy Days and the citywide garage sales.

Seventy-eight vehicles were entered in this year’s event, which was held in the parking lot behind Interbank.

“Although we would sure like more entries from Kingfisher, we did have a nice representation – and some winners! – from our hometown,” said Shauna Rupp, executive director of the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce.

“Next year, we look forward to filling the entire parking lot behind Interbank and shops on that block.”

Tom Murray’s 1957 Oldsmobile 88 won “Best of Show” and “Best Interior.”

Murray lives in Choctaw.

Steve Pitts made the trip from Hominy and his 1973 Chevrolet Camaro SS won “Best Paint” and “Best Engine.”
