Ombudsmen recognized

By

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month and the Long Term Care Authority of Enid Area Agency on Aging is recognizing its Ombudsman Volunteers for their dedication.

The ombudsmen include Gaytha Chivers, Ryta Kirby, Katie Dupire, Suellin Martinez, Glennis Peterman, Lori Johnson, Willa Chitwood and Ila McKee.

David Huff and Julie Tor-son, ombudsman supervisors, recognized these volunteers for their service to residents in nursing homes, assisted living and residential centers.

Each volunteer visits nursing home and assisted living residents for a minimum of two hours weekly. They attend monthly meetings and submit a monthly report to their ombudsman supervisor.

Training for new volunteers is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 16 and 17 at the Enid LTCA office, 202 W. Broadway, Suite A.
