Only 1 municipal candidate filed so far
Only one candidate had filed for county municipal offices as of noon Tuesday, Kingfisher County Election Board Secretary Shawna Butts said.
Candidates could begin filing at 8 a.m. Monday, but halfway through the three-day filing period, only one had done so.
Harold Shaw filed as trustee for the Town of Hennessey, Butts said.
The filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3.
Declarations of candidacy will be accepted at the county election board office for each of the municipalities, Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m.-5p.m.

The municipal offices at stake in Kingfisher County will be filled in the nonpartisan election scheduled April 6 and include the following:
Town of Hennessey
Two town trustees, with four-year terms of office, ending April 2025.
Town treasurer, with a four-year term ending April 2025.
Town clerk, two-year unexpired term ending April 2023.
Town of Okarche
Town trustee, Ward 2, four-year term expiring in 2025.
Town trustee, Ward 3, four-year unexpired term ending in 2023.
Town treasurer, four-year term expiring in 2025.
Town of Dover
Two trustees, with four-year terms expiring in 2025.
City of Kingfisher
City commissioner, four-year term at large, expiring in 2025.
Butts said she was preparing to call municipal officials Tuesday afternoon and suggest they remind prospective candidates of the filing deadline.
