Opening up continues; cases down
The state, county and local gradual opening plans all advanced to new phases this week as benchmarks continue to be met on COVID-19 infection containment.
Although the total number of confirmed state cases continue to climb, the amount of testing has increased dramatically, so that the number of positive results as a percentage of tests conducted is actually falling.
As of Tuesday, 5,489 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Oklahoma, with 4,135 of those already recovered.
In Kingfisher County, the number of confirmed cases has remained at 10 for several days, with all of those patients recovered.
Statewide, 294 deaths have been attributed to the disease, including three in Canadian County and one each in Garfield and Logan counties.
No deaths have been reported in Kingfisher or Blaine counties.
Since Saturday, the state has processed an average of 5,400 tests each day, with the percentage of positive results declined to an alltime low of 4.4%.
A total of 140,262 tests have been processed, with 133,658 of them being negative, according to Oklahoma State Health Department figures.
Currently, 167 patients are hospitalized with the disease statewide.
The total of COVID-19 patients who have ever been hospitalized in Oklahoma is 897.
