Eastbound access to County Road 840 from U.S. 81 was blocked off about 11 a.m. Tuesday and is expected to be closed for the next several days, according to an Oklahoma Department of Transportation update.

Restricted access will allow work to continue on the northbound lanes of U.S. 81 at that intersection (south of Mercy Hospital Kingfisher).

Access to the county road west of U.S. 81 will remain open.

Access to U.S. 81 to and from East Starlite Drive also will remain closed for approximately the same period of time.

Eastbound motorists and those approaching U.S. 81 from the east can follow a signed detour route around the closure, the ODOT news release said.
