Plans being finalized for Wine & Chocolate Festival

By
Barb Walter For The Times & Free Press

There are already nine wine, nine chocolate and two others who have signed up for tables at Hennessey United’s Wine & Chocolate Festival. The event will run from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Memorial Park on North Main Street.

All vendors are reminded they must sign up in advance to participate: wine vendors should call Dagan Hardin, chairman of the event, at 405-853-0191 and chocolate vendors must contact Tracie Macy at 405853-1545.

Plans are still in the works and United board members plan to get them finalized during a 6 p.m. meeting this Thursday night after a switch from their usual third Thursday meetings.

Ticket Costs Stay the Same

Ticket costs remain the same: $20 per person for wine and chocolate and includes a wine glass, or $5 for chocolate only. IDs will be checked in order to make sure only those 21 and older will get a wine glass.

9 Wine Makers Plus Two

Hardin said Monday night that he still has three more wine companies “on the fence” about coming to the festival, but these nine have signed up, plus a couple of other vendors:

• Backyard Winery, Oklahoma City

• Stubborn Bull, Hennessey • Turner-Me-On Wines, Hennessey

• Tidewater Winery, Drumright

• Farfalla Wines, Yukon

• Put a Cork in It Winery, Oklahoma City

• Shakespeare Wine Co., Chickasha

• Vernost Wine Co., Hennessey

• Wild Horse Canyon Farms, Luther Other coming are: 40 Martyrs Cigars from Enid and Territory Distilling of Stillwater.

9 Chocolatiers are Coming

“We have nine chocolate participants signed up so far and are waiting on a few more to confirm,” said Macy, the chocolate chairman, Monday morning. “We will have everything from cakes, breads, cheesecakes, brownies, teas, pickles and Dulce De Leche,” she added.

She also reminded that chocolate vendors “are required to have at least one chocolate item, and samples to be given out to festival goers.”

Signed up as of Monday morning are:

• Nothing Bundt Cakes, Yukon

• MK Concessions, Cleo Springs

• Your Cheesecake Lady, Enid

• Little Farm House Treats, Covington

• Mariana Sandoval, Hennessey

• Jamie Shimanek and Amberlee, Hennessey
