PPE to be provided to school

By

Kingfisher City-County Emergency Management Director Steve Loftis announced Tuesday that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) would be providedfor schools this fall, following the directive Gov. Kevin Stitt announced Monday.

Loftis said a goal of delivery regionally by Aug. 14 was announced.

Based on personnel data and requests from the State Department of Education, the State will be providing the following PPE to Oklahoma schools:

• 1.7 million reusable masks (two per teacher and student)

• 42,000 clear face shields

• 1.2 million pairs of disposable gloves

• 1.2 million disposable gowns.

“OEM has been tasked with handling logistics for this project and we are continuing to work out the details.” Loftis said. “Unfortunately much is still in flux right now and we are unable to answer all your questions.

“We will provide an update next week when we have more information, to include regional locations for PPE pick up and timeline for pick-up.” Loftis said.
