Rain Tuesday; could more snow be next?
Tuesday night’s rain dumped up to 1.8 inches of moisture across Kingfisher County.
The National Weather Service predicted ice and snow for the county beginning at noon Thursday and continuing until noon Friday.
Kingfisher Weather Observer Steve Loftis recorded 1.10 inches of rain at the local National Weather Service station in Kingfisher.
The rain filled ponds to the brim and provided another boost to area small grain fields.
A spokesman at Cashion Grain and Feed Elevator said the gauge there showed 1.8 inches Wednesday morning but some area residents reported as much as three inches. The Mesonet site at Guthrie showed 1.57 inches.
Other county reports included:
Dover -1.2 inches.
Hennessey - 1.25 inches at the Harold Ebers Farm.
Kingfisher - .5 inch at the Twila Adams residence east of Kingfisher, 1.3 inches at an unofficial site in the Wildwood Addition east of Kingfisher.
Loyal - 1.2 inches at the Jon Cochran residence.
Omega - 1.5 inches at the CHS Elevator.
Okarche - .57 inch at the CHS Elevator in Okarche, one inch at the Jason Petty residence northwest of Okarche and 1.5 inches at the Okarche Grain and Feed Elevator.
Mesonet reports included: Kingfisher 1.06 inch, Watonga .76 inch, El Reno 1.09 inches, Yukon 1.35 inches, Marshall .95 inch, Tipton .85 inch, Fairview .88 inch, Seiling 1.07 inches, Weatherford .76 inch, Apache 1.04 inches and Chickasha 1.14 inches.
