Recent Kingfisher Police Department reports
The Kingfisher Police Department has investigated or responded to the following reports:
January 5 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.
Officer Jarred Tech responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.
According to the report, a 42-year-old male suspect failed to scan two items in the self-checkout and appeared to be attempting to conceal them.
The suspect reportedly had been discovered attempting to steal merchandise on four other occasions, the report said.
January 6 - Burglary- second degree (auto parts).
Captain Dustin Brodrick took a report regarding a possible theft of fuel at Kingfisher Body and Glass, 504 N. Main St.
According to the report, an employee stated he observed the fuel tank open on two vehicles in the parking lot and a (siphoning) hose still located in one of the tanks.
January 8 - Public nuisance and planning or threatening a violent act.
Officer Kyle Svoboda responded to a report from a resident regarding a neighbor allowing his dog to defecate on her lawn.
According to the report, a resident in the 900 block of South Eighth Street stated that her neighbor lets his dogs defecate in her yard near the driveway and it has been an ongoing issue.
The 29-year-old male suspect had previously received a citation for a similar incident, the report said.
Officers made contact with the suspect and issued a citation for the dog feces, according to the report.
After officers left the scene, dispatch advised the reporting party had called back stating the suspect was making threatening statements, the report said.
Officers returned to the scene and made contact again with the suspect regarding the threats, according to the report.
Officers Matthew Hollon and Justin Conner assisted with the investigation.
January 8 - Cruelty to animals (four counts).
Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of animal cruelty and neglect in the 600 block of East Robberts Avenue.
According to the report, two emaciated and deceased puppies were located on the property with a frozen bucket of water and no food near the kennel.
In a second kennel a dog was observed to be very weak and without water, food or a viable shelter, the report said.
Another dog was located on the property chained to a tree, lying on its side and in a state of seizure, according to the report. The dog was also emaciated with no access to food, water or shelter, the report added.
Animal control officer Quinton Cline was dispatched to the scene and Officer Kyle Svoboda photographed the animals and the surrounding area, according to the report.
Officers made contact with the residents, a 51-yearold male and 29-year-old female, and placed them under arrest for four felony counts of cruelty to animals.
The suspects were transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center and the two surviving dogs were transported to Wheatland Veterinary Clinic, where the dog exhibiting a seizure was euthanized, the report said.
Officers Justin Conner and Chris McDaniel assisted with the investigation.
January 8 - Public intoxication and carrying firearms while under the influence.
Sergeant Aaron Schlegel was dispatched to a disabled vehicle on Starlite Drive, west of U.S. 81.
According to the report, Schlegel made contact with the 42-year-old female who appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication.
The suspect was placed under arrest for public intoxication and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
Upon inventory of the vehicle, a semi-automatic .380 caliber pistol was discovered, which led to an additional charge of possession of a firearm while intoxicated, the report said.
Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel assisted with the investigation.
January 10 - No valid driver’s license, transporting open container- liquor, unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of dangerous drugs prohibited- marijuana and possession of contraband by inmate.
Officer Steven Renbarger said in his report that he observed a northbound vehicle on U.S. 81 with a nonfunctioning headlight and nonfunctioning third brake light.
Renbarger also stated in his report that the vehicle appeared to be failing to maintain its lane and he initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, Renbarger performed field sobriety tests on the 34-yearold male suspect, but found no evidence of intoxication.
A search of the vehicle produced four opened bottles of liquor, a container with marijuana in it, a pre-rolled joint containing a green leafy substance and a plastic baggie containing a white, crystal-like substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine, the report said.
The suspect was arrested for operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license, transporting an open container of alcohol, unlawful possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
The suspect was transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center and was determined to have a marijuana vape pen on his person, which led to an additional charge of contraband by an inmate, according to the report.
Officer Jarred Tech assisted with the investigation.
January 12 - Transporting open container- liquor and DUI-liquor or drugs/APCV aggravated.
Officer Steven Renbarger said in his report that he observed a southbound vehicle on U.S. 81 traveling at a rate of speed above the posted limit and initiated a traffic stop.
According to the report, the 37-year-old male driver appeared to exhibit signs of intoxication and standardized field sobriety tests were performed.
An opened Modelo beer can was also located in the floorboard of the back seat, the report said.
The suspect was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and transporting an open container and transported to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
Renbarger also issued warnings to the suspect for driving in excess of the speed limit and driving with an expired driver’s license.

January 13 - Larceny of merchandise from retailer.
Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel responded to a report of theft at Walmart, 200 W. Starlite Drive.
According to the report, an 18-year-old female was observed selecting multiple items from the makeup and beauty aids aisle, where she then removed the merchandise from the original packaging, concealed the items in a handbag and proceeded to exit the store, the report said.
The total reported value of the stolen merchandise was $148.78.
January 14 - Operate/ APC vehicle under the influence of intoxicating substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of dangerous drugs prohibited; leaving scene of accident involving damage; and endangering others while eluding police officer.
Sergeant Charles Trout responded to a vehicle crash in which a cargo van was blocking the intersection of U.S. 81 and Seay Avenue.
According to the report, the 34-year-old male suspect attempted to flee the scene and the vehicle eventually became disabled in the front lawn of 1302 S. Main St.
Trout said in his report that he detected the odor of marijuana on the suspect and coming from the vehicle.
According to the report, officers searched the vehicle where multiple items were discovered including a THC pen, a rolled up $5 bill containing a white powdery substance, a rolled up $50 bill and small plastic bag containing a white powdery substance, a marijuana smoking pipe and small pieces of a green leafy substance.
The white powdery substance field tested positive for cocaine, the report said.
The suspect was arrested for driving under the influence of an intoxicant, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempting to elude an officer.
The suspect was transported by Kingfisher EMS to Mercy Hospital Kingfi sher where he was evaluated and then released for transport to the Kingfisher County Criminal Justice Center.
January 15 - Domestic assault and battery/ abuse.
Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel took a report of a domestic assault which allegedly occurred in August 2024.
January 18 - Assault and battery (two counts).
Officer Matthew Hollon responded to a report of an assault at First Shamrock Care Center, 1415 S. Main St.
According to the report, a 61-year-old male resident assaulted another resident and a staff member.
January 27 - Assault and battery and planning or threatening a violent act.
Sergeant Charles Trout responded to a report of an assault at First Shamrock Care Center, 1415 S. Main St.
According to the report, 61-year-old male resident assaulted a caregiver at the facility and also made threatening statements.
January 29 - Unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance and domestic abuse by strangulation.
Officer Christopher Mc-Daniel responded to a report of a domestic altercation in the 400 block of East Broadway Avenue.
January 31 - Dumping trash on public/private property.
Sergeant Aaron Schlegel responded to a report of illegal dumping at Aspen RV Park, 2750 S. 13th St.
According to the report, a resident stated someone had dumped “several pickup loads of furniture in front of and on top of their dumpster,” and provided a description of the suspect and vehicle involved.
Schlegel said in his report he made contact with a 35-year-old male suspect and also discovered a 17-year-old male suspect had also been involved in the incident.
Both suspects were issued municipal citations for the illegal dumping violation and informed they had until the end of the night to remove the property, the report said.
