Retired educators not quite yet the ‘Rockers’

By

Kingfisher County Retired Educators gathered recently for its final meeting of the year. Cosette Wymer of Fairview, Northwest District OREA representative, was the featured speaker. She updated the members on legislation that affects retired school personnel and the status of the proposed cost of living increase. Other business discussed was volunteer projects, scholarship guidelines, state leadership meetings, and membership recruitment. Kol Bomhoff of Okarche, an education major, was selected as this year’s scholarship recipient. No action was taken on Tom Arms’ suggestion that the group change the name to Kingfisher County Retired “Rockers,” although all members thought it might be appropriate since much time was spent in the rocking chairs.
