RETURN OF THE RING
RETURN OF THE RING — Kingfisher High School counselor Paula Leffingwell, left, and KPS administrative clerk Amy Woods, right, watch Tammy (Lockhart) Risher of Mustang open an envelope containing a class ring she lost in 1984 at Canton Lake. Leffingwell and Woods were part of a team of super sleuths who tracked down the ring’s owner when a man called the administrative office on Monday reporting he’d found a 1986 KHS class ring among his late father’s possessions with the initials TLL. Risher actually moved away before her senior year, so she didn’t appear with the 1986 senior class in the yearbook, Leffingwell’s first source of information. Contacting several members of the 1986 class, Leffingwell heard about Lockhart, and after a classmate reached out to her on Facebook, she confirmed she’d lost the ring at the lake the first week she bought it, after saving up hard-earned babysitting money for the purchase. The finder of the ring, who asked to remain anonymous, said his father used to go to Canton Lake frequently and likely found the ring there. The reunion of Risher and her ring also was featured by an Oklahoma City news station. [Photo Courtesy KHS Photography]
