CHAMBER HONOREES — Kingfisher Mayor Steve Richards, above with wife Myrna, was named Citizen of the Year at the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce banquet Saturday night. Recently named Mayor of the Year for Oklahoma City small cities, Richards has served the city in various elected and volunteer capacities for decades. He’s taken a leadership role in a host of capital improvement and public works projects. Chris Simon (top right photo, third from left), was named Volunteer of the Year, with wife Michele and sons Kase, left, and Kole, far right. Simon, a full-time Pioneer Telephone Cooperative employee, spends most nights and weekend photographing sports and other area youth events and then makes his photographs available to parents. Retiring Chamber Manager Judy Whipple, bottom right, was recognized by chamber board members for 19 years of service. See related photo Page 11A.
