Road crossings dominate brief meeting
Fifteen county road crossing permits – all but one in District 3 – comprised the majority of time in a 19-minute county commissioner meeting Monday.
Before commissioners got to the road crossing permits, they approved reimbursement claims to the state for the election board and district attorney’s offices, a resolution authorizing interest-free equipment purchases for county road machinery through the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, declaration as surplus a printer, monitor and hard drive for District 3 and a notice to bid for a new short engine block for a brush pumper truck for the Loyal Fire Department.
The district attorney salaries are paid by the state but mileage for use of personal vehicles in pursuit of office duties are initially paid by the county and later reimbursed by the state. The county pays the election board secretary’s salary and other employment expenses, including withholding tax, health care and retirement but is reimbursed for those costs by state government.
The following requests for road crossing permits received approval:
• Devon Energy Production – 12-inch lay flat water line located six miles south of Omega, District 3.
