Rotarian updated on hotel progress
Neal Brown, Kingfisher Rotary Club vice president, left, introduced ownership and management representatives of Kingfisher’s new Holiday Inn Express to the club last week. The hotel is currently under construction on the south edge of Kingfisher. Also on hand for the presentation was Steve Wood of Tulsa, far right. Tejal Patel, second from right, executive vice president of Platinum Hospitality of Oklahoma City, narrated a PowerPoint presentation. She was assisted by Shawn McGriff, second from left, regional director of operations. Patel said the Kingfisher hotel will be open for business no later than August of this year. Brown and Wood are cousins and operate Brown, Brown, Wood, Schoelen, Inc. along with other relatives. The family sold Platinum Hospitality the land which the hotel is situated on. The Patel family owns and operates dozens of hotels under various name brands including Hampton Inn and Best Western. The Kingfisher hotel will feature a swimming pool, fitness center and guest laundry among other amenities. McGriff invited all interested persons to contact the Platinum Hospitality group for “hard-hat tours” of the facility. “We’re a family business, and we would love to show you around,” she said.
