Rotary Club hosts Kingfisher seniors Olivares, Cardenas, Young, Sanders
Kingfisher High School seniors Diego Olivares, Coltyn Young, Brianda Cardenas and Sarah Sanders were guests at a recent meeting of the Kingfisher Rotary Club.
Olivares is the son of Claudia Rodriguez.
He is active in photography, horticulture and cross country.
He is the assistant chief on the KHS Photography staff, has earned the 4.0 Award and earned a spot in the National Honor Society.
Olivares plans to study education and psychology at the University of Central Oklahoma. His career goal is to become a school psychologist.
Young is the son of Nikki and Kyle Young.
He’s active in band, drama, Dead Poet’s Society, History Club and Business Professionals of America.
Honors include 4.0 Award, superintendent’s honor roll, Best Actor Award, National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society.
Young plans to attend the University of Oklahoma to major in dramatic theater and minor in psychology. He has the career goal of becoming a voice actor.
Cardenas is the daughter of Raul and Maria Cristina Cardenas.
She is the president of HOSA and is also active in the Health Careers program and the Alzheimer’s Association.
Cardenas plans to become an LPN and RN and pursue a career as a plastic surgery or labor and delivery nurse.
Sanders is the daughter of Mike and Lisa Sanders.
She’s active in band, drama and the Mercy Student Careers Council.
She is president of the KHS Band Council and assistant director in KHS drama.
Her honors include National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, superintendent’s honor roll and KHS Student of the Month.
Sanders plans to attend OU and pursue a career in the medical field.
