Rotary hosts 6 KHS seniors
Six Kingfisher High School seniors were guests recently at a meeting of the Kingfisher Rotary Club.
Joining the local civic group were Isabella Gomez, Emily Thomas, Casen Chlouber, Jayson Heldermon, Ximena DeLaTorre and Harper Evans.
Gomez is the daughter of Marcie and Jose Gomez. She’s active in Student Council and serves as vice president, was an Oklahoma Girls State delegate and is a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society and National Honor Society. Gomez is also a member of the Center of Family Love Teen Board and attends Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma and major in biomedical science, then pursue a career in either dentistry or anesthesiology.
Thomas is the daughter of Michael Thomas, Nicole Snow and Cterling Snow. She’s active in softball, basketball, cheerleading, yearbook and videography. Thomas has also been involved in culinary and earned certifications as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and in CPR and phlebotomy. She plans to earn a certifi ed medication assistant certification and pursue a career as a licensed practical nurse.
Chlouber is the son of Ashley and Josh Vasquez. He’s active in the Oklahoma High School Rodeo Association, the National High School Rodeo Association and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Chlouber was also listed on the principal’s honor roll and attends the Lutheran Church. He plans to attend college where he will be a member of the rodeo team and major in agriculture or the oilfield industry. Heldermon is the son of Wade Heldermon and Jan Wolf. He’s active in FFA and has earned first place in meat evaluation at the Oklahoma Panhandle State University competition and third place at the state animal science quiz bowl. Heldermon plans to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps, then pursue a career as a U.S. marshal.
DeLaTorre is the daughter of Leonor and Gonzalo DeLaTorre. She’s active in cheerleading, STUCO and FCA. DeLaTorre also serves as an elementary aide and is involved in girls Bible study and other faith-based activities. She plans to attend the University of Oklahoma and pursue a career as an obstetrics ultrasound technician.
Evans is the daughter of Alicia and Justin Evans. She’s active in track, soccer, cross country and was a member of the three-time cross country academic state champion team and took third place in the 4X800 team relay in track. Evans serves as STUCO president, National Honor Society secretary, Center of Family Love Teen Board vice president and was an Oklahoma Girls State delegate. She’s also involved in FCA, 84&Me and attends Kingfisher First Baptist Church. Evans plans to attend SWOSU where she will be a member of the track and cross country teams and major in biology/pre-veterinary medicine.
