Rotary hosts quartet of KHS seniors
Four Kingfisher High School seniors were guests last week of the Kingfi sher Rotary Club.
Joining the civic group at its weekly luncheon were Sierra Townsend, Irelyn Schemmer, Skyler Compton and Itzel Velarde.
Townsendisthedaughter of Ron and Julie Townsend.
She’s active in golf, FCCLA and is the HOSA vice president.
Townsend was named to the National Technical Honor Society.
She plans to earn a degree in nursing and pursue a career as a labor and delivery nurse.
Schemmer is the daughter of Ed and Amber Schemmer.
She is active in student council, HOSA, speech and drama, debate and Student Careers Council as well as serving as a football manager.
Schemmer has been named to the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and principal’s honor roll.
She plans to earn a degree in nursing after high school.
Compton is the daughter of Paul and Christen Compton.
She is currently the secretary of HOSA and is a teacher’s aide.
She plans to pursue a career in nursing after high school.
Velarde is the daughter of Gregorio and Luz Velarde.
She is active in FCCLA, HOSA, soccer and is a teacher’s aide.
She plans to pursue a career as a pediatric nurse.
