Rotary members view winning local videos for OEC’s Youth Tour

By

Jeff Hyatt, chief operations officer of Cimarron Electric, touched on a variety of subjects as the featured speaker of the Kingfisher Rotary Club last week.

He showed three winning videos of local high school students chosen last year to visit Washington, D.C., for the Oklahoma Electric Cooperative’s Youth Tour.

Winning high school juniors from across the state are treated to a week-long, all-expense paid educational trip in which they tour historic sites and national landmarks and meet Oklahoma’s congressional delegation as part of the tour.

The winning local videos were made by Sarah Sanders of Kingfisher, Mariana Gonzalez of Hennessey and Carson Oppel of Lomega.

Hyatt also told of current rebate programs in effect that Cimarron Electric customers may take advantage of when purchasing more energy-efficient heating and cooling equipment for their businesses or homes.

He also told of Cimarron Electric’s donation of pallets of bottled water to area schools and other organizations that are sponsoring events, which also may be used to earn income through concession sales.

Hyatt invited anyone with questions concerning any of the three topics discussed to contact him at the Cimarron Electric office.

Hyatt was introduced by Rotary Vice President Mike Myers.
