Rourke hosts Hennessey Farmerettes meeting
Nine members of the Hennessey Farmerettes met March 12 in the home of Lily Rourke.
President Billie Melendy called the meeting to order and led the flag salute.
The devotion, “The Secret,” was given by Mary Curry.
Roll call was answered by all telling about being humorous and happy.
The minutes were approved as read.
The treasurer’s report was provided.
Dot Miller reported on the district meeting where they made decorations from old records and filled them for the district meeting.
Jamie Akenhead told of the Best Choice bar codes members collect and some were turned in.
The spring outing is scheduled the second week of June.
The group was to serve at the Senior Citizen’s Center in June, but that is no longer necessary.
The group won first place again in the county for its scrapbook and second place in secretary’s notebook.
Those planning to attend District Spring Council in Fairview are Miller, Melendy, Akenhead and Margie Melendy.
The club voted to continue making a scrapbook despite it being voted on at the County Council meeting to not do scrapbooks.
Jean Stribel reported on attending a women’s retreat in Stillwater.
Susan Engle will host the next meeting. She will also be lesson leader.
The meeting was adjourned.
Curry, who was the lesson leader and host, gave a lesson on the value of humor in your life, both physically and mentally.
This month’s quarter drill was won by Stribel and last month’s by Billie Melendy.
Two different kinds of cake, nuts, chocolates and pretzels were served.
