Schemmer, Themer are Junior Lions

The Kingfisher Lions Club has announced Kingfisher High School seniors Irelyn Schemmer and Harrison Themer have been named the Junior Lions for March 2020.

Schemmer is the daughter of Ed and Amber Schemmer.

She is active in student council, speech and debate, drama and is treasurer of the Chisholm Trail Technology Center chapter of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA).

She is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society and has been listed on the principal’s honor roll.

Themer is the son of Dennis and Tammy Themer.

He’s been active in FFA, student council, FCA, cross country and basketball, among others during his high school career.

Themer was recently named a National Merit Scholar.

Other honors include Oklahoma Academic All-State, KHS Student of the Month, National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society and he earned his accredited parliamentarian credential.

He’s twice earned national championships in FFA Career and Leadership Development Events as well as six state championships.

Themer is the student council president, NHS vice president, FFA reporter and was an Oklahoma Boys State delegate.
