The Arts and Humanities Jury of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International announced recently the publication of Beth Schieber’s “Mother to Son” photograph in the DKG Gallery of Fine Arts, an online gallery of works of art and letters at www.dkg.org.

“My daughter-in-law, Amber, had just arrived at her son’s baseball game in Blanchard and went to the dugout fence to speak to her son, Asher,” said Schieber of the photograph.

“I just happened to look over and was able to catch forever this wonderful moment. I feel nothing is more powerful than a mother’s words of love and encouragement to her child.”

Schieber, of Okarche, is a member of the Beta Beta Chapter in Yukon and serves as the editor for the Oklahoma State Organization.

She is a past state president, past Southwest regional director and presently serves as a trustee of the International Education Foundation, which has awarded over $4.1 million to members and non-members to improve, enrich and encourage intercultural understanding and educational excellence since its inception.

DKG is a professional honor organization for women educators with more than 68,000 members.

Established in 17 member countries around the world, the society defi nes its mission as promoting professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.

Society headquarters is in Austin, Texas.
