School elections develop

By

Two county school board races have developed after the candidate filing period ended Wednesday, Kingfi sher County Election Board Secretary Shawna Butts reported.

Kingfisher Public Schools

Incumbent Carly Franks filed for re-election and will face two challengers in the Feb. 11 school primary election.

Other candidates include Servrina Prim and Susannah L. Copeland.

If none of the three candidates receives a majority of the votes cast on Feb. 11 (over 50%), the top two candidates will face each other in the April 7 general election.

Incumbent Stephanie J. Jeffrey filed for re-election and will face opponent Rob Anderson at the April 7 general election. (Because only two candidates filed, a primary election is not necessary.) Seats on the county’s fi ve other school boards will be filled without election as only one candidate filed for each open position, including: Lomega Public Schools: Matthew Oppel. Hennessey Public Schools: Patrick S. Griffi n. Cashion Public Schools: Michelle Miller. Dover Public Schools: Larry Harviston Jr. Chisholm Trail Technology Center: Mark Pringnitz.
