Several county 4-H judging teams compete at State Fair
Kingfisher County 4-H was well represented by four livestock judging teams at the Oklahoma State Fair on Sept. 15.
There was one senior team and three junior teams who completed the contest.
The senior team members were Clancy Broome, Dally Pedersen, Emerson Belt and Cole Holdrigde.
As a team, they ranked fourth overall out of 16 senior 4-H teams.
The three junior teams who competed were: • Jenson Landreth, Skylar Dooley, Bennett Landreth, Kye Murray and Sawyer Williams, who placed third overall;
• Hailey Swanson, Eva Nault and Kol Glazier, who placed 52nd overall; and,
• Katie Fisher, Lillian Cansler, Kru Murray and Chisholm Castonguay, who placed 60th overall.
There was a total of 106 teams in the 4-H Junior Division.
Isaac Belt also represented Kingfisher in the judging contest as an individual.
Livestock judging is the evaluation and selection of livestock based on their physical characteristics and overall quality, essential for producers and breeders to identify superior animals for breeding or market purposes.
It involves evaluating various species of livestock, including beef cattle, sheep, goats and swine.
