Shepherd speaks at KCRW luncheon

By

SUPPORTING WARRIORS — Brad Shepherd, retired Oklahoma Highway Patrol captain and executive director of Warrior’s Rest Foundation, presented a recent program at Kingfisher County Republican Women’s monthly luncheon. Warrior’s Rest is a national nonprofit aimed at providing care and support to law enforcement and other first responders suffering the after-effects of critical incidents. Shepherd said the average police officer experiences 188 critical incidents, situations where officers or others are at risk of serious harm or death, during the course of a typical 20-year career. A number of local officers also attended the luncheon. From left are Kingfisher Police Chief Dennis Baker, Shepherd, KPD Lt. Travis Gray, Capt. David Catron, Sgt. Dustin Brodrick, Kingfisher County Sheriff Dennis Banther, Deputy David Smith, Deputy Mark Sterling, Undersheriff Barry Reilly, Administrative Assistant Tresa Jones, and Cindy Lankford, Warrior’s Rest board member and wife of U.S. Sen. James Lankford. [Photo Courtesy Denise Boots]
