Sheri Glazier addresses Theta Tau

By

Theta Tau chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha met Jan. 20, in the BancFirst community room.

President Dana Terrell conducted the meeting and Terri Stake and Karen Castonguay served as hostesses.

Members will be making cinnamon rolls during the week of March 23-27. Orders will be due March 20. To order cinnamon rolls by the dozen or half dozen, contact a Theta Tau member.

In new business, club members voted to make donations to the Dover baseball team for bats and caps, and to the Kingfisher County Ambucs to help with the renovation of restrooms at Kingfisher Park.

Sheri Glazier, registered dietician and manager of Dirt Road Dietician, presented the program.

Glazier provided members facts about food and nutrition. She told members that the food we eat falls into categories of emotional, cultural and social.

It is important to anchor your plate with protein and fiber-rich food and that 75 percent of the plate should be plant-based, Glazier told members.

In February, Glazier was featured in a KOCO-TV (channel 5) news story in which she had the opportunity to give her perspective on beef production and meat substitutes.

The next meeting will be 6 p.m. Monday, March 23, at Eischen’s.
